A limited enquiry record, used for a clear purpose.

How Measured View Research collects, uses and protects information when you visit this website or contact us about a possible engagement.

Enquiry verification and source information

The enquiry form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated misuse. When available, browser storage retains limited campaign labels, referring domains and page paths to help us understand how an enquiry reached us; this source evidence expires after 30 days. Arbitrary URL query values and referrer search terms are not recorded. A temporary enquiry identifier and a hash are kept in the browser tab to make retries safe, without storing your form text. You can still enquire when browser storage is unavailable.

Who is responsible

Measured View Research is an independent research practice led by Denise Tian, based in China. Denise is responsible for the personal information handled through this website and its business enquiry channels. This notice covers website visitors and prospective clients; project-specific confidentiality and information-handling arrangements are agreed separately.

Information collected

When you make an enquiry, we collect the business contact details and decision context you provide, including your name, company, work email, country or region, company website, organisation type, decision question, desired timeline and preferred working model. Target company or industry is optional. We also record the submission date, the page or campaign source of the enquiry, and relevant follow-up correspondence. Required fields help us understand and respond to your request; without them, we may be unable to assess it.

How and why information is used

We use enquiry information to assess the request, respond to you, discuss a possible engagement and maintain a proportionate business record. Technical information is used to operate the website, investigate errors and protect against misuse. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these activities support steps taken at your request before a contract, our legitimate interest in managing business enquiries and website security, or compliance with legal obligations. Consent is sought separately where required for any additional use. An enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing, and acceptance or rejection is not decided solely by automated processing.

Website operation and cookies

Website and hosting services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and error or security logs as part of delivering and protecting the site. We may review aggregated traffic statistics provided by our hosting service, such as country, page path and referring site; these statistics are not used to identify individual downloaders. The enquiry form also uses basic timing and source information to help prevent misuse and understand how an enquiry reached us. We do not use advertising cookies or behavioural advertising on this website. If non-essential cookies or tracking are introduced, their purpose and the choices available will be explained before they are used, with consent requested where required.

Storage, access and sharing

Enquiries are held in access-restricted business records. Access is limited to Denise and service providers needed for website hosting, secure record storage, email and technical support. Providers may process information only as needed for those services. We do not sell enquiry information or share it for third-party marketing. Information may be disclosed where legally required or necessary to protect legitimate legal rights. The enquiry form does not accept attachments; confidential or sensitive materials should be shared only through a separately agreed channel.

International handling

As a China-based practice working with international clients, enquiry information may be accessed in China and processed in other countries where our hosting, email or record-storage providers operate. Data protection rules may differ between countries. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, those safeguards must be in place before the transfer takes place. You can contact us for details relevant to your information.

Retention

We keep enquiry information for as long as it remains necessary to respond to the request, manage a potential or ongoing business relationship, or meet legal and record-keeping obligations. Retention is assessed according to whether the enquiry is active, whether an engagement follows, and whether a contractual, accounting or legal need remains. Records that are no longer needed are deleted or anonymised following review; deletion is not automatic. Contract, invoice and project-delivery records are managed separately according to their purpose and applicable requirements.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access or correct your personal information, or request its deletion. Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, obtain a portable copy, withdraw consent for a use based on consent, or complain to the relevant data protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions. We may ask for enough information to verify a request without collecting unnecessary personal details. Information that must be retained for a legal or contractual reason may not be deleted immediately.

Changes to this notice

This notice is reviewed when there is a material change to how information is collected or used, the services involved, or applicable requirements. Any new purpose requiring additional information or consent will be explained before that use begins.
